…NOT! Hahaha! Okay that was a mean joke. I love DeviantArt too much and would never ever ever leave this place where my online life started.

Anyhow, it's been quite a while since did an update. And this time, it REALLY was quite a while. Perhaps, almost 3 months? Many things have happened since then and I can't recount all of them due to my outdated brain that needs some RAM and processor upgrades.

Though things got hectic, I still am having fun juggling all these stuff along with the thing that we call…"SOCIAL LIFE" Hahaha! I was able to hang out more with real friends whom I've known since I was oblivious to anything but rabbits…and Sailor Moon. We have been together for 14 years and counting. Seems like not too long when we first met, eh?


Here is a photo of me and my BFFs (Jan + Alodia + Patty = JAP) during a sleep over. We looked mildly crazy here but in truth…we are crazier in real life. Just kidding! ._.

Other than that, cosplay still plays a very huge role in my life. It isn't just a fun hobby that I get to do once in a while, but it is part of who I am. With that, my lil sister Ashley ~orangeish and I landed a job with ANIMAX ASIA, a huge TV network that broadcasts all over SE Asia.

Little sister Ashley ~orangeish and I are now called Animates - "Hello, I'm Animate Alodia! Hello, I'm Animate Ashley" - and we represent Animax as ambassadors for their station. How fun is that?! *looks above* I mean, this is another blessing we are really thankful for because not only do we get to work with Animax, we're in it as who we really are - people who love anime, cosplay, games, cons, internet & Animax! Seriously? Like I mentioned before, getting your dream job rocks!

How about you guys? What is your dream job? Or what would you rather do and get compensated for by just doing it? No ranting please. Hahaha!

My former dream was to be a concept artist for huge gaming companies such as Squaresoft (now Square Enix) or Blizzard. But ever since I did cosplay, my time was divided and I wasn't able to hone my art skills.

I posted something a few days ago on my Twitter - “The artist is nothing without the gift, but the gift is nothing without work.” — Émile Zola. And IMHO it basically means that without practicing you craft, your skills will stagnate. Sad but true. So now, I make it a point to draw at least once every few days.

Going back to cosplay…(ugh! This darn auto-correction keeps turning "cosplay" to "costly"! Is my computer that smart that it knows that cosplay is somehow costly? Just kidding…) Goiiiinnggg baccckk…Cosplay events are just piling up like how Starbucks cups magically pile up beside me. ._. Uhhh…

Animax invites you to meet the Animates!
July 2, 2010; 3-6pm; Camp Pong, Singapore

We might be also dropping by the San Diego Comic Con 2010 for a project with the directors of "The Avengers", "300", etc. I received an email invitation for their project and let's hope that pushes through and another happy fan(moi) will leave this world in peace.

A wee quiet lass that started with Sailormoon, now meeting the likes of those Hollywood comicbook titans. That sounds so farfetched but let's see how this goes... *.*

Anyway, the biggest con here in the Philippines just happened a few days ago, TOY CON 2010.

It was a major success and all of us there had so much fun!

We worked hand-in-hand with Animax to promote their new shows; and also with Maxicollector, for the OTACOOL2 Worldwide Cosplay book signing!

For those of you that have no idea what it is, OTACOOL2 is a book published by Kotobukiya in Japan that features cosplayers from around the world!

We were with all 4 Filipino cosplayers who were included in the book - Animate Ashley ~orangeish, me *blackmage9, Monique Dimanlig ~MorningMiracle (the geisha) and Jessica Ouano (as Vanille of FF13), who flew in just to join us in this special event! Another friend of ours, Jan Pesino-Illenberger *Hikaru-Jan (as Bayonetta), a US cosplayer, also joined us in our booth! Talk about girl power! Hahaha! *love*

Hi guys! How have you all been? It's been almost a month since my last update though it felt like ages.  We needed time to recuperate from the series of events last March that lead us (lil sis ~orangeish, mom and I) to have severe cough, fever and occasional symptoms of flu.

We figured that medication alone didn't do the trick and bed rest was pretty much a strong and much advised option. So there, we decided that strenuous activities should be avoided and even if I really wanted to attend the events organized by my colleagues and friends, we had to cancel our attendance to fully regain our health.

We missed a total of 4 events and it was a hard decision since though my mind wanted to, my body wasn't ready yet. I was accustomed to pushing myself to the limit but this time around wasn't just like any other. Where is the Phoenix Down when you need one?! ~.~

Anyway, while we were on leave, lil sis ~orangeish and I played Final Fantasy 13. Yup past tense "played" that's because we finished it already. Not 100% but we did half of the missions in game and yet we finished it in a week about 50+ hours. I remember spending 97 hours of game time on FF12 and weren't able to finish it yet...  :[ Moving on...



The game's graphics is pretty impressive especially that now all of the summons transform into vehicles such as the Shiva sisters turn into one kick-a** motorbike, Odin into this mechanical-looking stallion mount, and so on and so forth.

But there are couple of things that could've made the game better. One was that in the entire game, you could only acquire 6 summons/eidolons. One per character. Oh c'mon, 6 summons in total... There were no special summon hunts like FF7's Knights of the Round where you had to breed a Gold Chocobo to get to this secret island on the upper right part of the map... Or FFX's Anima or Magus Sisters, etc. FFXIII's summons are all laid out. Whether you like it or not, you will get all 6. This leads me to my next point...

The game is a bit linear. No mazes. No town-hopping. No hours spent looking for an important item (eg. FF7's Lunar Harp to get to Aeris and move on with the story). But there are missions in FFXIII that kind of remind me about FF7:Crisis Core's missions. But then again, all the missions are contained within one map that looks like the "Calm Lands" of FFX.

Music... music... They got Leona Lewis to sing the main theme but... BUT where is Nobuo Uematsu?? He is the guy responsible for most if not all FF game's OSTs! One can clearly hear the difference in composition in FFXIII compared to the previous ones. It's like they have this main theme and then do various versions of it. Piano version. Jazz Version. Mellow version. etc. Sad... But the OST had a few interesting tracks. We'll just have to wait for the official CD to come out to really appreciate the scores.

Anyway, this is all I could point out for now. Even if the game lacks in a few aspects, I still think it is an excellent game and that any RPG fan shouldn't miss out on.

Being an avid follower of the Final Fantasy series, I can say that this particular title has got to be the best FF eye candy. Colors, lighting, effects, transformation sequences, facial expressions, and new takes on old character designs - Chocobos, Bahamut, Siren, etc...

Here are a few figures I am looking forward to.

I particularly like the FFXIII Shiva Sisters Bike Set figure because the two separate figures merge into one motorbike - just like in the game!! O_O

A month ago (March 17 2010), Chowking held a spectacular event commemorating their 25th Yr Anniversary in the business and the launch of their new product the Oh!Some Oh!Range Chicken. Bloggers, cosplayers and photographers graced the event with their presence in this exclusive party. And in addition to this, Chowking wowed the guests with a surprise appearance of their new endorser, Jericho Rosales, a famous actor here in our country.

Finally, I also got to submit my entry for the OTACOOL2 Cosplay Book!

It's Sunday, 5PM in the afternoon, and I'm stuck at home because I fell ill a couple of days ago and I haven't fully recovered  from it yet. I contracted flu, a severe cough and a fever that reached 38.3 degrees.

It must be due to overworking myself again. We had 3 different events in less than a week. I think I could've handled it if my task was only to attend but I was also in-charge of coordination and promotions. So yeah! I had so much fun doing everything that I failed to realize that my body was already falling short or at least using its last amount of energy.

I am just glad that I fell ill before the week ended. I have a few days to recover and do aftermaths while recovering. LOL The next series of events will start tomorrow, Monday, until the end of March. Let's hope the medications (antibiotics and maybe coffee) would work wonders or else I'm doomed! Just kidding!

Anyhow, let's start chronologically with the events that happened this week before everything gets mixed up. Hehehe! Last Saturday, we had this wonderful event with Animax Asia in Trinoma featuring their latest anime show K-On!

Before anything else, I'd like to thank everyone who attended our ANIMAX K-On Outing! It wouldn't be this successful without you guys: cosplayers, photographers, bloggers and spectators. I know, I keep mentioning this, but we will always be grateful for everything good that happens. No good deed should be taken for granted. ^_^

What is K-On?

I went as Yui, lil sis Ash ~orangeish as Mio, Janeena as Ritsu and Bea ~BeaAraneta as Mugi. I wanted to do Mio because she's a bit bustier than Yui but then I came across a little description of Yui (The character I cosplayed):

"Yui is clumsy and easily spaces out most of the time."

This excerpt sounded very familiar. Hmm.. Why so? As I recount personal memories from my life back in college, I couldn't help but laugh at this one incident that proves just how clumsy I can be. Walking casually I waved at someone i really liked and then tripped. My palms and knees were on the floor.  I laughed it off and went straight to the computer as if nothing happened.

Also as I entered high school, I tried my luck at the cheerleading team and passed among many deserving girls who joined the try outs. I had no knowledge about the group and my stunt skills weren't that great. Simply, it was beginner's luck! When I was already part of the team, I was then compelled to learn all the stunts and improve my flexibility on my own. Somewhat like how Yui joined the Light club (music club) and made herself learn the guitar once she was on the team. Hahaha!


Anyway, the day of our outing started rather well. All of us met at my house to prepare ourselves. We did our own make-up, styled our wigs and dressed up in our costumes which were done by Boying Eustachio.



We had a quick bite and took a few Photobooth photos before leaving together for Trinoma.




We arrived at the mall just before 3. Just right on time!

Hesitant, we walked side-by-side fearing that we may get weird glances from normal mall goers. But we thought that it was okay because we are all doing it together. And it's pretty fun to walk around non-convention halls once in a while.

Finally, we reached the garden. We expected it to be warmer at the area since it was open-aired but thankfully it was cloudy! Summer + sun + long white polo + coat = overkill.



Anyhow, it was overwhelming to see the place full of people. Cosplayers, photographers and those who came to support the event. *blush*



Btw, the place was not reserved. It was just an open area for normal mall go-ers. Heehee!



After taking a couple of photos in the garden, we had to move in because the clouds moved out therefore harsh sun rays. Heat wave!

We headed to our next stop which was White Hat, a frozen yogurt place.



The moment we stepped back inside the mall felt like heaven. Aircon! Hahaha!



All of us had a cup of blue berry cheesecake frozen yogurt. Janeena and Bea finished theirs while I ate only half because I was full. I gave the remaining yogurt I had to Ash who ate a total of 1 1/2 cups of fro-yo. Knowing Ash ~orangeish, she will never ever say no to food.


It was very nice of the owner of White Hat to accommodate us and all the photographers.

I'm surprised but at the same time really glad to have received a present from such a lovely girl. Can I take her home? *_*

After eating, we did a mini shoot with some members of the Cosplay Photographers Guild. They brought  couple of light with them. Here are a few shots I found online.

So we went to play with the bonggo drums since Guitar Freaks and Drum Freaks were all occupied. Sad! But its okay!  It's the closest Ritsu can get to playing the drums!




After that, all of us played a couple rounds of basketball 'til we tired ourselves out.

Anyhow, going back to what happened...

Birthday...otherwise known as the DBD... Diet Buster Day. Okay I just made that up because we get to eat lots of food therefore destroying our *imaginary* diet!



This special day of mine was pretty simple. I woke up 12nn because I slept late trying to update my DA journal that night. As I mentioned before, piling-up of journal entries isn't really good. Who would want to read something so long in one sitting? Not me. LOL


We had lunch at a Spanish restaurant named Cirkulo. It was our first time to dine there and it was a great experience.


Everything we ordered was really good. Wagyu beef, lamb chops, sea bass, etc. Mmmm... Good bye diet...

After that we had coffee at Starbucks (in Green Belt 3)! My favorite coffee shop. I used to hate coffee back in high school but Starbucks changed the way I see coffee! Ordered Venti White Mocha Frap.


While hanging out, we played with this little gadget. It's a new digital Polaroid camera! You can select photos before printing it with its built-in printer. The prints come out from the side.


It uses zinc paper so it doesn't require ink and it roughly costs P5 (10 cents) per print. Pretty cool, huh?

Anyhow, we didn't stay long because Ashley had to go to Mall of Asia for the Paramore Concert.

Anyway....

Since we didn't go to the Paramore concert, ee went malling in Power Plant Mall...


...and and and! I got Bayonetta!! Finally! I got it the day FFXIII was released. FAIL!

I'll wait for the FFXIII's prices to drop before getting my hands on it. And besides, it would be hard to play 2 games at once... Especially, knowing Final Fantasy, it would take a hundred game hours to complete the game.

But hey! Bayonetta is a pretty cool and hilarious game! I can believe how girly she is in a funny way! She loves to pose a lot while fighting, or pulling levers, etc..o.O;; Hahaha!

Before heading home, we bought original DVDs and got take-out food. Had dinner with my family while watching Obsessed. After that, played Bayonetta upto 3am.

That's basically it! Nothing grand! Goodbye 21, hello 22!

It was a rushed costume, but we really love how lovely it turned out!

Zoom In

Materials:
1) Cinema Secrets cream (#PS608S-33)
2) White Eyeshadow
3) Baby Powder
4) Dark Foundation
5) Old Rose Eyeshadow
6) Eyeliner
7) Mascara (+eye lash curler)
8) Brown Eyeshadow
9) Peach Blush
10) Dark Red lipstick (custom mix #4)

Brushes:
A) Large Brush
B) Blush Brush
C) Eyeshadow Brush
D) Eyebrow Brush
E) Lip Brush

1) Using your fingers, apply the Cinema Secrets cream foundation evenly on your face, neck and other parts of the skin that would be exposed. Do this layer by layer so you can achieve maximum coverage.

2-3) With a large brush (A), dust White Eye Shadow over all the areas with the cream foundation and then Baby Powder on your arms, neck and chest. This will set your make-up and make it less greasy/oily.

4) Sometimes, you may find one area whiter than the other. This happened to my face and neck. To correct this, using a large brush (A), dust over a light layer of Dark Foundation over your face to match the other areas of your skin.

5) Finally, the hardest part is over. Now we move onto applying eyeshadow. Using a flat Eyeshadow brush (C), apply Old Rose Eyeshadow and blend it well. The White Queen doesn't really have dark heavy lids so this layer of Old Rose eyeshadow is sufficient.

6) Add eyeliner over your upper lids. And little bit under your eyes to make your eyes look bigger.

7) Knowing that we'll be going to an event and not a photoshoot, I opted to use my real lashes instead of falsies. False lashes tend to unglue themselves with out you noticing it and being in an event, you cannot visit the ladies room every 30mins or so to check on it. So I played safe. Using a curlash, curl your lashes and apply Mascara. This is to make you lashes darker from all that white make-up earlier.

8) Dab you Eyebrow brush (D) on dark brown eyeshadow and apply it over your brows. The White Queen has pretty thick brows so you might want to add more volume by doing it repeatedly.

9) Using the Blush brush (B), apply peach blush on your cheeks all the way to your temples.

10) Finally, the White Queen calls for thick lips. With a Lipstick brush (E), apply your Dark Red lipstick generously. You can go a bit beyond your lip line to make your lips look fuller. Just in case you missed it from my previous journal entry (2 entries back), to create a Dark Red lipstick, all you have to do is take a bit of your normal red lipstick and mix it with Black Eyeshadow.

The end! I'm not an expert on make-up but just learned doing this through practice and playing with make-up. Anyway, hope you enjoyed this mini tutorial! ^_^

Many thanks also to everyone who greeted me and sang a birthday song for me before the party started. *touched* T_T I felt like this was one of the best birthday parties I ever had...or a party that almost coincided with my date of birth.

Today, March 9, I turn 22...but i still look 15 according to most people we meet in person. LOL Anyway, honestly, I was more excited about the tea party than my actual birthday because nothing really grand is happening. All we have planned for now is a simple lunch with my family. After that, lil sis Ashley ~orangeish would be watching Paramore's concert without us. LOL (No way I'm shelling out P10,000 ($200 USD) for 1 concert ticket. *.*)

Before I forget, I'd like to thank all the lovely art gifts from fellow artists in the community.

Btw, the mall's staff was quite overwhelmed with how many people came and it wouldn't be as great without all the cosplayers, photographers, family, friends and fans who were there to celebrate the tea party with us! ♥ 'til the next event - K-On Outing in Trinoma on March14!

We arrived at Power Plant Mall before 2pm but the mall staff told us that the event would start at 4pm. So we had a mini shoot at the conference room to make the most of our costumes.

It took us 4 hours to prepare. No joke! We started 8:30am. I did Mad Hatter's and my make-up! I'll go into detail about that some other time since I don't have photos of my gear right now. D:

It was 4pm soon before we knew it. A lot of people arrived. And to think, it wasn't a convention (meaning no booths, no catwalk, etc), just a simple tea party. It was amazing!


Not only cosplayers came, but a lot of photographers too!


Jed ~AstroCrush a good friend of mine from school now in Philippine Daily Inquirer, Mark Dantes from Power Plant Mall management, and more guys from Power Plant Mall.

Finally, I also got to submit my entry for the OTACOOL2 Cosplay Book!

Ok this update will be really quick! Been out and about preparing a lot of things for the two upcoming events we're holding soon:
Alice in Wonderland Tea Party on March 6 and
Animax K-On Outing on March 14 .

Quick announcement for our
Alice in Wonderland Tea Party on March 6:
Our Tea Party Set-Up would have:
Free tea and iced tea for kids from Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf
Free face painting
Free cookies and cupcakes from Marta's Kitchen

Moving along... My mom and I have been cloth hunting, acquiring & styling wigs, acquiring the necessary make-up products & accessories, making appointments with the seamstresses and making props for all the girls in the team. So yeah, social life is put on hold again...all for cosplay.... LOL

Anyhow, all of us are having fun doing this and are so so so excited for the next events. I'll be doing make-up and styling on all the girls. So please pray for me that I finish on time on the days of the event.

Here's a little prop I made last night for my White Queen Cosplay.
Took photos of the entire process:


First did a paper pattern. Computed exact measurements based on the photo and the ratio of the White Queen's crown to her face. Here is what I got. 10" circumference, 5" height, 5 points at 2" width each.


Was doing all this while watching Animax. Hihihi!


I also made a small snowflake/star pattern. Since I did not have a protractor nor a compass, all I did was to to fold the paper in equal proportions and measured equal distances all around from the center to create this tiny thing.


Here is my white rubber sheet. 4mm thickness. Using the trapezoid pattern I made earlier, I repeatedly drew it 5 times side by side.


Drew a line across the whole thing to get the exact placing for my little snowflake pattern.


Drew 5 snow flakes using the guide.


After laying down all the lines/guides, i carefully cut out excess rubber sheet using a normal cutter. And used a craft/exacto knife for the snow flake pattern.


This is Greco888, the cheaper and stronger version of Mighty Bond. It fuses rubber sheet together flawlessly.


So I stuck the ends together and voila, instant crown!


Time to get the perfect shade of gold using gold and silver glitters. Using plain gold glitters will make it too yellow. We need the silver to desaturate the gold.


Using a paintbrush and and PVC glue (Elmer's glue), I stuck the glitters part by part upto the insides.


That's all! Pretty simple and fun! Can't wait to make more props! Btw, I placed a small rubber strip inside the crown. I can use that to pin the crown onto my wig.


Before hitting the sack, I also remembered to mix the right shade of lipstick to get it that almost black cherry hue. I just used red lipstick and black eyeshadow and mixed them together!

I'll have to curl my wig tomorrow so everything will be ready. After that, I'm done with my preparations for my White Queen cosplay. Also bought ~orangeish's wig for her Alice cosplay a while ago! Woohoo! I'll only have to attend to Mad Hatter's and my make-up on Saturday!

New Deviation: KojieSan Print Ad

I really cant say how overwhelmed I am to be part of this awesome project! KojieSan was looking for a model to endorse their skin care products and I only knew about it through an email I got from one of the advertising team members doing the campaign.

I went heads on with commercial models, mainstream actresses and professional Brazilian models for the role. And luckily, I landed the job!



What's funny is that all the potential models brought their portfolios and cut-outs of their ads from previous modeling gigs. And I went there with nothing but my iPhone and some cosplay photos I had in it 'coz I had no idea about Go-See procedures. LOL

The team told us during the shoot that they got a bit nervous because I brought nothing. Hahahaha! Thank you iPhone for saving my life!

Anyhow, I never really imagined having this opportunity since looking back in high school, all I ever wanted to do was to create paintings at home because I was really shy and I preferred being in quiet & peaceful places. I was always behind-the-scenes doing video-editing, props-making, artworks, and I left all the talking and performing to my other group members.


2003 Cosplay FADE: Faus (who'll be our Mad Hatter on Saturday), Ashley ~orangeish, Die & Edj (my nickname) as characters of Final Fantasy X-2

Back then, I also joined Anime Club (an online forum) and then entered the cosplay scene without ever planning to be a print ad model, endorser, host and the like. I just loved Japanese culture, video games, anime, dressing up and putting on make-up and that's what kept me going on for years joining cosplay competitions.

Even had a bad case of stage-fright. Makes me wonder how I got into this sort of thing. Hahaha!




But now having given the opportunity, all i can do is to be thankful for these blessings, do my best and to be grateful for everyone who's been supporting me - family, friends and fans of our works!

Being compensated for what you really love doing, in my case cosplay, is more than I could ever ask for. So yay! Now that I think about it, it's something like a dream job. I hope you guys find your dream job, as well! It'll take off the wrinkles in all of our faces. Hahaha!

New journal layout!!! Well not exactly. Just pretty much cleaned up certain parts to make everything look neater. Added a calendar of activities for future cosplay plans and events. Now if only the HTML and CSS codes would allow me to incorporate Twitter and Plurk updates in my journal...that'd be overkill! This can do for now.

BRB! I'm off to check out the new theatrical make-up I got for my next cosplay - Tim Burton's version of  White Queen, from Alice in Wonderland...

Practicing white make-up for the White Queen cosplay.

An unedited webcam comparison photo. One side with make-up, the other completely make-up free. I used a very light cream foundation for the base. Finished it off with light powder and shimmer. It is actually whiter and more shimmery/glittery in person.

Btw, my left eye looks bigger than the right and that's just because of eye-liner. Skipped out on those circle lenses that make your irises look bigger. It is 12 midnight now and putting on contact lenses this late is quite uncomfortable.

Again, sorry can't help myself. Playing with new make-up feels like playing with new art materials or new photography equipment. Exciting! LOL I'll be going as the White Queen with my lil sis ~orangeish as Alice, and my good old friend Faus Ontengco as The Mad Hatter. Last week, I got an invitation to talk about cosplay at the University of Asia and the Pacific : Special topics in Integrated Marketing and Communications. This was my first time to have a formal talk about cosplay. I was very very nervous but thanks to my cousin Philip Yeung, teacher of that class, I was able to get through it. Also special thanks to ~BeaAraneta for backing me up!

Finally, I also got to submit my entry for the OTACOOL2 Cosplay Book!

The Otaku Expo hosted by Otakuzine that happened over two days last weekend was a total blast!!! This was the first convention we attended for the year 2010. Though we were only able to attend on the 2nd day, it still felt great to see familiar faces in the community. Some of them helping out at the cosplay competition, some at the maid cafe.


With the adorable maid cast + twins Liz and Lynsey in the center.

Other than being the first con of the year, this was also my first time to be part of a Maid Cafe and it was a scene like no other. They had a wonderful cast of adorable maids and butlers! The only downside though was I was the oldest maid and all the youngsters aged 14-17 kept calling me "Ate" (big sister) or "Mama-san".


Anyhow, serving others was quite an experience. I took down food orders and remitted payments with the help of fellow butler Rocky (whom I've known in the community for quite some time).



I went as Haruhi Gothic Lolita! It was a recycled costume.
First wore it at Maxicollector's Anime Figure Launch 2 years ago.



Other than food at the cafe, maids and butlers had special services available for purchase. "Photo", "Sing" or "Dance". Luckily, since we had so many customers, we only limited my services to one choice. Thank God all of them chose "Photo" because I wasn't prepared to sing and dance for my customers. Haha! If I had no choice, I'd sing the Philippine National Anthem then maybe dance the Caramel Dansen.

After 3 hours of serving, I was able to take a 5-10 minute break and headed out to be part of the panel of judges for the cosplay competition.

It was amazing how we reached about 120+ contestants for the competition. Everyone put up a great show - Mecha, Lolis, game-characters, anime guys/gals, etc!

Like I mentioned before, competitions are becoming stiffer as time flies. I wonder how cosplay competitions would look like 10 years from now? Maybe we'd have rings/stages similar to the ones in boxing bouts and we'd have audiences viewing the cosplayers from all sides of the stage. Maybe some special 3D effects and harnesses to play around with. Just a random thought. What do you think? Steal this idea and you're fried. Just kidding! No seriously...

On the way out, I bumped into Tinnee, a fellow BJD collector.
Here she is with a new addition to her family!!

Congratulations to Ara ~H-a-Z-y for being one of the winners of the cosplay competition. She went as Kelly of Bust A Groove 2 and her performance on stage was astounding. It would take a lot of time and practice to master the dance...not to mention a lot of guts too to perform it in front of a large crowd!!


She really danced Kelly's in-game moves on stage and it left everyone wanting more. This makes us want to cosplay Bust A Groove characters too. Kitty-N or Shorty perhaps? Ashley ~orangeish wants to go as Heat! *dreams*

That's all for now! Thanks again to everyone who came and supported the event! It really meant a lot to us especially that this was our first time to help out at the Maid Cafe and it wouldn't be successful without the guys who attended this special event! During both days, the food was sold out!! Congratulations to the organizers and the staff of the event! Another job well done! Looking forward to the next convention!

He was the guy who won a date with me hosted by E-Games sometime last year. I tried to resist opening the box... and failed. I'm a sucker for everything Final Fantasy. It is one of the games my lil sis ~orangeish and I grew up with.

Finally, the new Maxicollector website has been launched. I helped with the layout. Some of the product/figure photos were also taken by me. Finally, I also got to submit my entry for the OTACOOL2 Cosplay Book! Submissions are still open. They'll be accepting entries until mid February. But if they get lots of entries, they might close submissiona earlier. *.*

Accidentally, dropped by Xander Angeles' exhibit last night at Green Belt 5. He's a great photographer and it was really cool to meet him in person! A good friend of ours, Lino, knows him really well. Hope to maybe work with him some day! *dreams*

I think, you needed to be on the guest list to get in. But thank you to Tita Ginggay Joven-dela Merced for helping us get in! We were so unprepared for this event because we didn't know that it was gonna happen last night. So I am terribly sorry I wasn't able to bring a camera to take decent photos. We had to make the most out of our camera phones.

The area! Most of the people were dressed to impress!

We left the event for a bit just to grab dinner. On the way out..


It was flattering that people still know my works even if I lacked the bright wigs and colorful get-up. *.*




Some brought copies of the FHM magazine I was featured in - June 2009 issue. I think this is because Xander was a really well-known photographer of that mag.









Had dinner at John and Yoko, one of my favorite Japanese restaurants. I never get tired of their Dynamite Roll. Yumm yumm! After dinner, we went back because Jen texted us that she was there~


Jenny Rockett and me. Jen is a very sweet girl! She modeled for Xander in his latest calendar.

Tim Yap hosted the event. This is the first time I've seen him in person.

We left after the video presentations because it was getting late and my house was an hour and a half drive from the place. Passed by an ice cream shop and accompanied Jen to get to her sister at a restaurant.

All in all, it was great to have dropped by the event even if it was only just by chance!
