Collecticon Aftermath, AFA, Baroness BTS

Hello guys! Thanks to those who sent us messages of a possible meet up during our trip to Singapore for the Nuffnang Blog Awards! Sorry for the delay to those expecting a reply though. We couldn't plan our schedule yet because we haven't received our final sched on the 24th. Don't worry, we'll update you as soon as we get ahold of it. ^_^

Another year of Collecticon has come and passed. And this year was just as fun as last year's. :]

We went there around 3:30pm in the afternoon and I came as the Baroness of GI Joe. Just before we arrived, my friend told me he got security to meet us at the basement.


Kindly meet the Wonder Boys! They held me hostage because they are the good guys and The Baroness is the villain! Just kidding! They were the organizers of this event, Hobbiworks Inc. and Pinoytoykolektors.com, dressed up as soldiers!


They escorted us to Maxicollector's booth where we stayed for a couple of minutes. Took photos, chatted up with fellow toy enthusiasts, met fellow cosplayers, photographers and old friends in the community.

Bleau Aquino, fellow toy photographer!

It was nice to see toy photographer siblings Bleau and Ryder Aquino there. They joined the Toy Photography contest and asked me if I did as well. Unfortunately, I had nothing prepared for this year's contest.


Bleau and other Toy Photography Entries! I can't believe how much everyone's works improved from last year's entries! Hahaha!


Like last year, Bleau and Ryder's toy photo entry bagged a prize! Here is their winning piece for the Edited Category! "The Flames of Gumira"


On the other hand, this is Raichu08's winning entry for the Un-Edited Category! "Beeyotched"


Congratz to you guys!! Hope to see more stunning works and of course, meet the artists behind them in future events!

After a couple more minutes, we left the booth and headed to Starbucks to meet up with Mike and Stanley of TV5's Front Act!
_{PLUG: Their show airs on Sundays, TV5, 6pm! It's a funny show that features random but interesting stuff found anywhere. Hahaha! Here was our segment that was aired a couple of times. o.o}

After that, Richie aka Fat Boy Studios was also nice enough to invite us over to have a mini shoot at his home studio.



This was an unplanned shoot. We just though of doing one after the convention. Hahaha!

After deciding long and hard if we would join the Anime Festival Asia cosplay competition, we actually got to submit our entry just before the deadline. It's been a while since we joined cosplay competitions. Good luck to us! ^.^

My lil sis and I will be cosplaying together as characters from one of my favorite anime series, WitchBlade. I'll be Amaha Masane and she'll be Shiori Tsuzuki. Enemies in the series.



Our entry needed to have photos of past cosplays which took me hours to compile. Most of them were stored on old cds/dvds which luckily we still have here. The process made me feel a bit uneasy because there was a time when I had braces and of course, it's not part of the character's get-up. But at the same time, looking through all these photos made me miss the old times together we had with Anime Club members.



The pics dated all the way back in 2003 just when me and my lil sis started cosplaying. Yes, it's been that long and we even barely noticed it. It's such a fun hobby to do. Not only did we meet new friends, we also get to share the same passion and help each other learn and be better in our crafts.

Lil sis Ashley orangeish will have her works up in the Redefine exhibit. Most of it has never been published online yet.~
